The Importance of Stretching (from NASM)

  • decreased chance of injury

  • prevention or correction of muscle imbalances

  • improved posture

  • enhancement of joint range of motion

When to stretch

Static stretching, like the stretches below, should be done after training. Whether it’s a practice, team session, game, performance…when the event is complete, it’s time for static stretching (dynamic stretching is used prior to events).

How to:

Simply follow our beginner guide below (or download a copy). We hold majority of our stretches for 30-60 seconds to start. Your athlete should RELAX while they are holding stretches rather than tensing up! ENJOY!
