JUNE FIGURE SKATING
Join us this June for three weeks of on ice FIGURE SKATING DEVELOPMENT!
All registered athletes will be placed into groups of 2-4 by skating skill and/or age. Each group will be assigned 1-2 lesson times each week for professional figure skating development focusing on skating skills development and freeskate.
In addition, your registration grants your athlete access to 4+ hours of open ice each week to further practice and develop their skills.
This opportunity is for athletes who have passed Basic 3 and above and/or were a morning ice skater for the 2023-2024 season.
*Please note, on-ice classes will be led by Mallory and/or a Junior Coach for Oka Skating Academy.
*Mallory is expecting her first child in July so her on-ice activity will be extremely limited. Be aware she may be coaching from the box, using video and utilizing a junior coach when possible. The academy’s professional coaching will not be impacted.
Figure skating is a uniquely beautiful sport.
Not only does it require the strength and power of an explosive athlete but the artistry and grace of a true performer.

Open Ice
While working with a coach to learn proper skating skills is extremely important… so is the time spent practicing those skills outside of our lessons. This is why we always offer and encourage our registered athletes to take advantage of our ice time.
Just like your regular “morning ice” - there will be an active lesson in progress with the coaches but also lots of room on the ice for registered athletes to practice their skills! Take advantage of this ice time!
Those who put in the extra practice outside of their lesson will always see a greater return in their investment.

Registration Timeline
Monday April 29 - Friday May 17: Enrollment is OPEN. All interested families must fill out the registration form found on our website (click the link above).
Tuesday May 28: Group assignments will be emailed out to registered families. Payment for June will be due at this time. Emails will be time sensitive, please be on the look-out.
Monday June 10: Ice is ready and June Figure Skating begins!
Investment
*12+ hours open ice
4 on ice training sessions (30 minutes each)
Ice rental is included
$225 per athlete (no additional fees)

Refund Policy
Generally, Oka Skating Academy does not issue refunds. However, in the event Mallory has an unexpected early arrival, the following policy will be enforced:
All skaters who are 9th grade and below will continue lessons with the Junior Coach (equipped with Mallory’s lesson plan).
For skaters who are 10th grade and above; any lessons unable to be fulfilled will be refunded (pro-rated) in July.
