HOCKEY OPEN ICE, June 2021

Due to low registration numbers for hockey open ice, we will not be providing this option for June 2021.

We are reverting back to our previous way of booking for lessons/ice time. 

Please see the revised flyer to the right. If you have any questions, please reach out. 

All athletes on the ice must be USA Hockey members or Learn to Skate members. We can register any skater for a Learn to Skate membership, just reach out ($17.25).

  • Lessons will be occurring on this ice. All athletes must stay out of the way of the lesson in progress at all times.
  • Please wear full gear.
  • No food is to be brought to the rink side or locker room.
  • Check in is required; only registered skaters are allowed on the session.

FIGURE SKATING + LEARN TO SKATE OPEN ICE, June 2021

Open ice for figure skaters and learn to skate students. This is a great time to work on elements, dances, moves in the field, programs, etc. 

5/25/21 Update: Current registration numbers allow for 3 weeks of ice, 9:00-10:000AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays (June 1st - June 17th). Registration will remain open.

MINI DRYLAND, June 2021

Join us this June for some FUN in the SUN as we introduce 'dryland' to skaters ages 4-5. The sessions will be short and sweet, have a large emphasis on FUN and start introducing coordination, body awareness (in terms of movement), and that above all else, effort is important.

Please send with tennis shoes, a water bottle and in comfortable workout clothes.

$75 per skater

INTRO to DRYLAND, June 2021

Join us as we continue to introduce youth skaters to different dryland training movements and tools to aid in their future development! Think jumping, balance, coordination, body weight movements and FUN. Let's build these skills OFF ICE to be better ON ICE!

MALLORY OLSON

Mallory is the director of Oka Skating Academy and specializes in skating skill and power development in hockey athletes. She is originally a figure skater turned hockey instructor through years of dedication and learning with both sports.

Figure Skating Camp, June 4-5, 2021

Join us for our figure skating camp in Watford City, ND this June!  The camp is 2 days (half days) and will consist of on and off ice classes. The camp will be divided into two 'tracks' - Learn to Skate and Advanced.

MALLORY OLSON

Mallory is the director of Oka Skating Academy. It one of the academy's goals to bring more awareness and opportunity for the sport of figure skating to western ND. 2020-2021 was the academy's first season, working with 18 kids in our Fundamentals of Figure Skating Course.

BRENNA FREED

Brenna is a figure skating and learn to skate coach with Oka Skating Academy. She was a member of Skate Canada throughout her amateur career which she advanced in skills, Freeskate and Junior Silver Dance.
